ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is not a traditional General Manager position.
This is an opportunity to build, lead, and ultimately become a true operating partner in one of New York City's most exciting hospitality repositioning projects. A leading independent NYC hospitality group is seeking an exceptional General Manager & Managing Partner to lead the next chapter of a high-profile Mexican-inspired cocktail destination and fusion restaurant in the heart of Midtown West, Manhattan.
Following a significant ownership investment and complete venue transformation, this property is entering a new era. The physical space has been upgraded, the culinary and beverage programs are being elevated, and the brand is being repositioned to attract a more sophisticated and affluent guest demographic. Ownership is committed to returning this venue to its status as one of New York City's premier hospitality destinations — historically generating annual revenues exceeding $7 million.

THE OPPORTUNITY
This position combines the responsibilities of General Manager, Director of Operations, Business Development Leader, Culture Builder, Revenue Driver, and Future Partner. The ideal candidate understands that exceptional hospitality businesses are not maintained — they are constantly built, refined, and improved.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and develop management and hourly teams
- Build a culture of accountability, professionalism, and hospitality excellence
- Lead by example during service
- Develop future leaders within the organization
- Establish clear performance expectations and measurable goals
- Maintain strong employee retention and engagement
Revenue Growth & Business Development
- Drive year-over-year sales growth and increase guest frequency and spend
- Expand private event and corporate sales opportunities
- Build relationships with neighborhood businesses, hotels, concierges, and local influencers
- Collaborate with marketing teams on promotions, social media, and strategic initiatives
- Identify new revenue opportunities and maximize profitability across all revenue streams
Guest Experience
- Deliver a best-in-class hospitality experience and maintain exceptional online reputation scores
- Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and urgency
- Develop systems that create memorable and repeatable guest experiences
- Ensure every guest interaction reflects the venue's brand standards
Financial Performance
- Assume full ownership of P&L performance
- Manage labor costs and scheduling efficiency
- Control food, beverage, and operating expenses
- Improve inventory systems and purchasing controls
- Analyze weekly financial reporting and develop action plans based on performance metrics
- Consistently drive EBITDA growth
Food, Beverage & Nightlife Operations
- Partner with culinary and beverage leadership on menu development
- Elevate cocktail and service standards
- Maintain operational excellence during high-volume service periods
- Oversee venue programming and guest-facing initiatives
- Create an environment that seamlessly blends dining, cocktails, and nightlife
Strategic Partnership with Ownership
- Work directly alongside ownership and senior leadership on long-term growth initiatives, concept evolution, capital improvement projects, and future expansion opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience
- 5+ years of General Manager experience in high-volume NYC hospitality operations
- Strong food, beverage, nightlife, and events experience
- Demonstrated history of driving sales and profitability growth
- Experience managing teams of 50+ employees
- Advanced understanding of labor management and cost controls

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- 💰 Base Salary: $125,000 – $160,000+, commensurate with experience
